Mama's Basket began with a simple longing — the taste of the food we grew up on. Hardbody chicken slow-cooked with onion and tomato. A warm bowl of amasi over phuthu. Eggs with yolks the colour of the sun.

Somewhere between the supermarket aisles and the city commute, those flavours started to fade. Battery chickens. Watery milk. Eggs with no taste at all. We knew there was a better way — the old way.

So we partnered with small farmers who still raise hens on open veld, who culture amasi the traditional way. Every month we pack a basket of these honest staples and bring them straight to your door.
